## Frequently Asked Questions
### How many sheep does my solar site need?
The standard stocking rate is approximately 5–8 sheep per acre, depending on vegetation density, plant species, and seasonal growth rates. We'll determine the ideal flock size during your free site assessment.
### Will the sheep damage the solar panels or wiring?
No. Sheep are gentle grazers with no interest in wiring or panel surfaces. Unlike goats, sheep do not climb or chew on infrastructure. Our trained flocks are specifically managed for solar environments with exposed conduit protected as a standard precaution.
### What about fencing and predator protection?
We handle all temporary fencing installation and removal as part of our service. Our sites are protected by livestock guardian dogs and secure perimeter fencing to keep predators out and sheep safely contained.
### How long does the grazing season run?
In the Great Lakes region, our active grazing season typically runs from late April through October, depending on weather and vegetation conditions. We provide year-round site monitoring and planning.
